When I requested that my car be picked up the day before we were to leave, Diane, (Manager of everything, it seems,) suggested it be picked up 2 days prior to leaving "so I wouldn't have to worry about it at the last minute" That day came and went, and when I called the company, she informed me that the truck had broken a lift, and the car would be picked up a day late. That didn't happen either, and when I emailed her late the night before we were to leave, she emailed back that it would be picked up the following Monday. I called her and explained that there would be no one there, and she said to leave the keys with a neighbor. By this time, all semblance of courtesy was gone, and she was downright rude, very sarcastic, and very short tempered. We had no choice, but to leave, and trust that the car would be picked up. When we arrived in Florida a few days later and got settled in, I called her again, and she said the car had been picked up, and was I calling for a delivery date. I tried to explain that I had just talked with my neighbor back in WI. and the car had not been picked up. She said she would get back to me in 20 minutes. She always PROMISED to get back to us, which she never did. I'd call her every day or two, and most of the time I would just get her voice mail, but using my cell phone, she would pick up and pretend to get my tracking numbers all mixed up, so every phone call would keep me on hold for 20 to 30 minutes. This went on for over 3 weeks, with her never returning our calls, and letting us believe that the car would be picked up shortly. Everytime I spoke with her, it would end up with her belittling me and losing her temper, and I would practically be in tears when I would get off the phone. She finally yelled at me "why don't you cancel?"and hung up the phone on me, telling me she had more important things to do. She never offered to return our deposit. We spoke with the Consumer Protection in New York and also the New York Attorney General, who both advised us to not release the car to her, if she did go to pick it up. They both said they would talk to her, but for us to send a letter to cancel, which we did. Shortly after cancellation, the money was credited back to our account. We feel their phone calls helped us get our money back. We don't have my little sports car down here for the Winter, but we feel extremely fortunate that it wasn't stolen and we are not out the money. Most of all, we learned a lesson. Next year we'll rent a tow bar and trailer it down ourselves." />
