2. Move swiftly to their destination.
3. Value their customers and the brokers that pay them well.
Transport Tip #2:
The Motor Carrier number (MC #) is distributed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in sequential order. If the company you wish to do business with has an MC # greater than 600,000, they have probably been in business less than a year, or they have recently had their license revoked and have started a new business with an alternate name and/or owners. This business is highly cyclical and rates change week-to-week. Understanding the ebb and flow of highly competitive routes is important and ensures a timely transport for your vehicle.
Transport Tip #23:
It is less important what you pay and more important what the carrier gets paid. More money to the carriers will lead to a more timely transport by more professional companies. Ask your broker, what do you think the carrier will get paid to move my vehicle?

These are the rules and regulations when shipping your car to Hawaii:
1. Vehicles must be in operating condition with a working emergency brake, and must be licensed or qualified to be licensed for operation on public streets and highways.
2. All vehicles must have a clean exterior so that a vehicle inspection may be conducted at the load port. Dirty vehicles will not be accepted.
3. Matson cannot ship vehicles with cracked or damaged windshields or windows.
4. Remove all personal belongings. The only items acceptable for shipment are those that are normally attached to the vehicle or permanently installed in the dash, rear deck, or console. (Basically…..NOTHING allowed in the car)
5. Vehicle must be delivered with ¼ tank of fuel or less. Customer needs to contact the Matson customer service department (1-800-4MATSON) if they are shipping a car with alternative fuel, propane, electric, or natural gas.
If you decide to go ahead and book I’ll need the vehicle color, license plate number, state of plate, and vin.
