pick up date problem

told rep that i needed pickup by a certain date- she assured me because the number of available dates for pick up- no problem. in fact she said it was going to happen on a particular date based on the info from the trucker. I said I would change my travel plans and add another car based on her assurance- the trucker hadn't left Florida by the pic'k up date. Amerifreight should have known this- so they either misrepresented the situation or didn't know enough to make the commitment. I had to cancel my plans to stay for the late pick up. I would have preferred the truth about the delay. I had costs associated with my cancellation, but Amerifreight management would not do anything for me other than allow me to cancel the second car which i added based on their assurances that the car would be picked up the next day.

We are disappointed whenever a customer's experience is anything less than excellent. We expect our carriers to communicate any delays with the customer and when they do not, they are reconsidered for future use. Unfortunately when shipping, unexpected delays can happen. The customer shipped at the Economy rate, which has estimated pickup and delivery dates. For customers that need a guaranteed pickup date, we recommend shipping at the Priority rate. Under the Economy rate, the customer is shipping on the carrier's schedule. With the Priority rate, the carrier works to accomodate the customer's schedule. We do apologize for the inconvenience this situation caused the customer.
