I contacted Bill based on his reviews on Transport Reviews. He was honest, upfront, and assured me that he would take care of everything. He explained the entire process of going through a broker to transport a car. Basically, a broker will collect a fee, in my case it was $200, then place your car on a board. The job will be bid by transporters, and Bill will select a transporter. Bill allowed me to speak with the transporter directly, and made sure that I was getting a good price for my transport. His process of booking is the most up front straight forward way in my opinion. Other transporters will quote you the entire price and will keep the amount paid to the transporters hidden. This gives them an incentive to pay the least to the transporter and pocket the rest. But if the broker places the bid too low, then your car may not be transported, or they may pick it up, but ask for more upon delivery. However, Bill fought for me and made sure that I would not be overcharged by the transporters. I do have one caveat, which is that the car was not picked up within the window that I had given Bill even though I had booked with him well over a month in advanced. As a result, I had to give my car to a friend so that I could take my flight to Chicago. Be aware, car transport is a unpredictable process and the broker has no control over how many transporters can take your car in the given time frame.
