I called several places for quotes. I found others cheaper ($950 range) but decided to go with Stateway because of great reviews. They quoted $1295 in beginning of call.

I was very clear and punctual with the guy that took my order. I told them I'm open to any date as long as it was a weekday during business hours because vehicle is located in a storage facility.

The manager of storage facility knew the situation of car in unit and that I would be hiring an auto transport company to pickup. The manager was to allow transport in, open door to unit and hand keys of car to transport driver.

Stateway scheduled a driver for Friday pickup about a week and a half away. I was happy with that and agreed. They then upped the price to $1495 by end of call because of "logistics" of driver schedule.. I reluctantly agreed because I was already 20minutes into call and was reassured that they are a great company and will go the extra mile. They told me they'd charge $495 to my card as a deposit, and to give the driver $1000 cash upon delivery which felt shady. But again was assured that's how it's done.

After finalizing, I wrote a letter to the storage facility for reference with the car keys included that had the specifics of company/date of pickup, etc even though manager was already aware by my previous phone call.

After the manager of facility received letter on Monday of Fridays pickup, he called me and said my storage bill would cycle on Wednesday but would wave another month fee ($175) because driver would be there Friday and I went over only by 2 days. I was thankful for his offer.

So I call Stateway back on Wednesday of Fridays pickup just to check in. They said everything was in order and to just wait until transport driver called me upon arrival at storage on Friday between noon and 2pm.

So I waited all morning Friday.. then noon passed, still nothing. So around 230pm (California time) I called Stateway and they all the sudden tell me it's a 3-4 day window. There was no driver yet assigned.

I was like WHAT THE FU**?

So I told them all the stuff I went thru to make this happen, including my storage facility managers time to assist and give me a break on bill. They just said sorry and offered me a $50 card to a local restraunt in my area. I didn't even respond to offer but received email of it later. They then said to just hold tight and they'ld contact me the following week when they found a driver. They would not give a clear answer when I asked them what happened to driver they said was contracted 2 weeks earlier on initial call. I also reminded them it was a 3 day weekend (presidents day on Monday) and that manager may not be there on Monday to assist. (Which I had to completely re-explain for a few minutes as if I had never told them the first time).

I then go to call manager of storage to let him know and of course it's now 5:05pm (Tennesee time) and he'd just closed office and left for 3day weekend.

So Sunday morning at 6am I get a call from Stateway saying they got a driver for noon. I'm half awake like wtf are you calling me at 6am on a Sunday morning of a 3day weekend especially after I told them manager would probably not be at facility to assist them because it was NOT BUSINESS HOURS! They said ok, they'd take care of it.

Sure enough, a few hours later around noon I get a phone call from a hillbilly transport driver saying he's in front of the storage facility. I damn near lost my shit! I call Stateway and speak to owner Adam (I think his name was) and explain everything AGAIN. He apologised and stated he'd cancel driver and find something that week.

So.. 5days go by. Now Friday of following week. Ive been charged $175 for another month of storage. Not a word from Stateway.

So I call EZ Transport because of great reviews as well. They tell me sorry about Stateway and that they get calls DAILY of people calling them because of frustration with "brokers" like Stateway. EZ Transport offered me a pickup 3 days later on Monday noon in a EZ Transport owned COVERED transport truck with 1 million dollars insurance for $1500 bucks! The same price!

Ugh. This was my experience. I'm sure Stateway has done great work brokering for others as other reviewers state, but COMPLETELY DROPPED THE BALL several times with me on this order. I'm mad as hell at them for wasting my time, the drivers time, my storage managers time, and I got charged another extra month Storage because of them. But thank you EZ Transport for saving the day!
