On 3/15/14, I talked to Bill. I told him that I need a car picked up no later than 5/4/14. He could pick it up as early as he wanted to insure this pick up time. He suggested a first available date of 4/28/14. I agreed. The contract was placed that day for $645.
On 4/26/14(Saturday) I called to follow up. Got the answering machine. Later that day, I received a call from Alexandria. She told me my order had not been dispatched but I would get a call early in the week.
I did not get a call on 4/28/14 (Monday).
I did not get a call on 4/29/14 (Tuesday).
I called 4/30/14 (Wednesday). Got the answering machine. Promised a return call by end of the day. Did not receive a return call.
I called 5/1/14 Thursday). Got the answering machine. Promised a return call by end of the day. Did not receive a return call.
I called 5/2/14 (Friday). Got the answering machine. Promised a return call by end of the day. Emailed Bill midafternoon. Receive a phone call from Laura. She explains to me that the traffic from Florida has been very heavy this year (true). I tell her everyone left in March and April. Pam explains that because of the heavy traffic, other orders are being taken by drivers in front of mine. She explains that my price would need to go to $925 in order to meet my schedule. I tell her we have a contract at $645. She tells me that the contract does not guarantee dates. I ask when it could be delivered for $645. She states sometime in June. I tell her I would like to speak to Bill. She said he would call me. Then Pam gets involved. Then the manager, Michael gets involved. Ultimately they agree to the $645 price but cannot tell when the car will be pick up, most likely sometime in the next week. I state that if the car can be picked up no later than 5/5/14 (one day later than originally agreed to) and the cost is $649 we have a deal. I give them until 11:30 AM the next day to tell me if they can do it. Michael said he would try
On 5/3/14 I was informed by Michael they could not guarantee pick up by 5/5/14. They were confident that it could be picked up by 5/7/14. I cancelled the order. I had airplane tickets for 5/6/14 that I had to cancel. We drove three days to Illinois in the car that was to be transported. I have not done that for years because I have a bad back (I had surgery a year ago). I was offered compensation. I told them I had money, what I needed was a driver.
On 5/5/14 I received another apology from Michael. I also got a phone call from Pam trying to coordinate the pick-up of the car. I explained that the order was cancelled. She again offers compensation.
The bottom line: I placed my order a month and a half ahead of time. I placed four phone calls and got an answering machine. None of the calls were returned. In my opinion, no one tried to place my order until late in the Friday afternoon before the Sunday it was to be picked up. I was too late to make it happen.
