Statway Auto Transporters had very good reviews on Transportreviews.com, and that is why I chose them. I saw numerous other posts stating not to go thru the lowest cost brokers as it is very difficult for them to actually entice drivers to pick up the cars. So I chose a quote that was about the 40th percentile of quotes I received (420 to 680 dollars) from TransortReviews.com.

First major problem, is they do not answer the phone at Stateway, they only respond to messages. When I had a call returned, the response was the same each time, "we are still waiting to dispatch the car." if we miss the window can you leave your car with a friend?" Throughout the process they assured me that they would have my care dispatched for a Mon thu Wed pick up. By Thursday the car still wasn't dispatched.

Second, they told me that the bid cost would stay the same, but the driver incentive/portion would be increased. As confirmed by another broker, even after they missed the dispatch window, my bid was still at the beginning price, 150-200 dollars below the market rate at that time.

Thank goodnesss for American Auto Transport who sent an email specifically stating "Did you use a broker and your car has not been picked up? That is because your broker bid too low, and they lock you in with a deposit." That is exactly what happened to me. Although I did pay more than I wanted, it was reasonable for the 23rs hour situation I was left in by Stateway Auto Transporters. I would not recommend using Stateway, even for those educated bargain hunters out there.
