My initial experience with this company was positive and their transparency into the process of shipping cars was truly appreciated. The straightforwardness and low pressure sales were a plus. However from there it was downhill. Stars and Stripes subcontracted with a highly questionable company who was unacceptably bad. The subcontracted carrier did not provide any confirmation, follow-up call nor did they coordinate any pick up logistics. After calling countless times on the day of pick-up I finally reached someone who asked that I call him back and then proceeded to block my calls.
Most disappointing was Stars and Stripes minimal communication and efforts to resolve this embarrassingly bad subcontractor. This company continued to commit to calling me back with updates but would not. I had to call repeatedly to obtain updates. Ultimately after over 24 hours of a no call-no show they eventually committed to reissuing the job to another vendor. Every time I requested my down payment back, they would beg me to give them another chance. Ultimately I did give them additional chances and ultimately my car was transported. But my pick up was scheduled for Wednesday and it did not get picked up until Friday. This presented significant inconveniences and required me to leave a car with a neighbor and compensate them for their time. When sharing this with Stars and Stripes no discount or overture was offered; further they explained that since they are now using a new company there is no way to reduce the price.
Stars and Stripes cost me precious time, hours of phone time, but ultimately they did facilitate the transportation of my car.
I understand that things happen but they need to improve their vetting process and commit to better communication and issue resolution before I would even think about using them again. Buyer be warned.
