South Beach contacted me to transport a car from NY to NC for my brother after I filled a form online. He called them back, spoke with David, and scheduled the pickup on Wed. for Fri. It had to be between 4PM & 8PM. Everything was fine. The driver calls the pickup at 7:45pm 45 mins away from the pickup and just hung up after the pickup person told him he couldn't wait for him. My brother called South Beach back that Sat. morning and told them what happened. They said no problem, we'll get you another driver. We didn't hear from them anymore that weekend. Monday my brother emails them and says that if they don't tell him something, he's going with another broker as we all know, they just call call & call. He didn't really want to do that because he likes to honor his word to someone but South Beach made it real hard. Also, technically the actual carrier screwed things up, so my brother was willing to give them another shot at making it happen. So they call back and say bear with them, they are trying to get a truck scheduled. We didn't hear anything the rest of Monday. Tuesday, my brother is now about to lose it but they finally call and say they have someone that can pickup Wed. between 4 & 8. Around 11 Wednesday morning, the carrier calls the pickup contact and says he can pickup "Thursday" between 4 & 8. The pickup calls my brother and told him and he was really fed up. Keep in mind, this is now an entire week after contracting South Beach and the car still hadn't even been picked up yet. So my brother said he wanted to go exercise and calm down before contacting them. We went to the gym and while there he decided enough is enough and sent them an email last night when we got home to cancel the pickup. Now I'm getting to the real reason I am writing this review. My brother didn't want to because its just what we heard. But I think this information needs to be out there. My brother contacted another broker who contacted a carrier that said that South Beach had already contacted them about his car but tried to low ball the price. The new shipper offered him the going rate and long story short, in 1 day with another carrier, my brothers car is on a truck in route to NC from NY. And the new broker charged my brother $50 less than South Beach wanted to. YMMV
