Car was picked up late and the whole process was very stressful

My husband and I relocated from MA to CA. I shopped around a lot and based on the positive reviews, I chose to use ShipACar Direct. I called and the rep was really nice and helpful. I explained that we were flying to CA and that we absolutely needed to have the car picked up before we left. He assured me that this should be no problem and we set a 3 day window for pickup. Then I didn't hear anything from him for ~2 weeks (other than the automated, and somewhat helpful, but also somewhat annoying emails from the company). I called 2 days before our window started to get an update, only to be told that no carrier had picked up our bid. I was assured that we were offering the most for that type of car and it should be no problem to have someone come to get the car within the window. I then had to call every single day from then on because otherwise I wasn't getting any updates and because a lot of logistics rested on when our car was being picked up. The rep could not give me any information and just told me to be patient. Well, it turned out that they were not able to arrange for our car to be picked up until after we had already left for CA. On the morning we flew out, I had to wake up really early to drive over an hour to leave my car at a former co-workers house so she could hand it off to the company. I felt really bad for having to inconvenience her and her family but there was nothing else we could do. My husband and I had to fly to CA not knowing if our car was ever going to be shipped. It was very stressful and I would not recommend this process at all. I personally will never be shipping a car again. Our car did make it to our destination mostly safely. It was filthy and there were a few scratches on the back bumper, but otherwise it was fine. Still, not worth the stress at all.
