Since my husband needed a work vehicle at one of his business sites in NY state, we decided to let our 2004 Toyota do the job. Since the truck already had 316k+ miles on it - and we live in WA state - we decided it'd be best to ship the truck rather than drive it.

In my busy husband's hurried state, he booked with a transport company who he, frankly, didn't trust and who, ultimately didn't show up. At this point, I checked with the BBB and found out that the non-trustworthy company was not affiliated - so we ended all contracts with them and called Ship A Car Direct (which appeared to have excellent ratings and which was given the highest rating by the BBB.

Ship A Car Direct did everything the other company didn't do: 1). They answered their phones; 2). they were polite and courteous; 3). they explained to me how the car-shipping/contracting system worked and gave me a time/cost estimate based on that system; 4). they were by no means pushy or aggressive - to the contrary, they gave me information, gave me their contact info, and told me to think it over; 5). when I ultimately called them back to say that I was interested in going with their company, they stayed in constant, friendly contact with me.

Our truck was a part of our family for many years...my hubby proposed to me in that truck, and years later, we brought our first child home from the hospital in that truck. We were beyond sad to see it go, but when I saw the driver Tom contracted driving it up onto the carrier, I honestly felt better because I knew it was in trusted hands. Dramatic, yes...but true.

The truck arrived at its NY destination without any troubles. Payments were made by cashier's check at the time of truck pick up, and the driver was an ultimate professional. Best of all: Ship a Car Direct's final cost was LESS than that of any of the other non-BBB affiliated companies my husband had looked at previously.

I ABSOLUTELY recommend this company. In an arena where customers feel vulnerable because they don't know who they're letting transport their vehicle (especially since they can't get a hold of any customer service agents), SACD quells fears. They're honest, direct, friendly, timely - and, like I said, they come in under others' costs. Definitely go with them; they're good people who will make sure your vehicle is transported safely and efficiently.
