In summary, Safe-direct uses low price to lure you then asks you to bump the price again and again, and they couldn't find a carrier! Besides, once you place your order, they won't contact you unless you call them. Lack of honesty and communication!

It was my first time to use an auto transport company to ship my small Mazda 3 across the country. Safe-direct car shipping returned to me with a low quote. I checked with all the reviews and decided to go with it since it seems to be a nice company and much cheaper. Mistake! Mistake! Mistake! I placed my order on 6/20/2012 (8 days before my desired pick up day) with Jason. Then hear nothing from him for five days. I called him on 6/25, and got the answer that my quote was low, and if I could bump 50$ more it will increase my chance. So I did it. Guess what? I didn't hear from him for another couple of days. My departure day was close so I have to leave my car at a friend's home. I called him again on 6/28 and had to bump another 50$ as he "recommended". Jason never calls me or emails me to update my status unless I called him. He even didn't reply my email. I have already moved to my new place for a week and still didn't hear from him. The last time I called him was on 7/5. He again asked me to bump another 50$ or 100$. I don't believe this is the way a good company doing business. Lack of communication and lack of honesty. I fired him and his company immediately.

The next day I contacted another company and got a carrier 30 mins after I placed the order. I have wasted three weeks on Safe-direct. What a shame. Hope this review can help you make your decision. Don't be tempted by their low quote!

Our apologies to Lucy, we don't charge anyone a penny until we have a carrier secured, so it is not our practice nor in our best interest to 'lure' anyone with a price that won't secure a carrier quickly. Jason is a recent addition to our company and doing an admirable job on most fronts, but we apologize that his communication skills are still in need of refinement. Glad the car finally got on it's way. Word to the wise - as we always say here - Don't go with the lowest price you receive, EVEN IF IT'S OURS.
