I recently had my car transported by Ship Any Car LLC from New York to Florida. When the car arrived the transporter handed over the papers to be signed and I unknowingly did so, unaware that I should have signed after the car was completely removed from the lift. As it was being removed, it rolled down slowly, with loud screeching sounds as it slammed down forcefully on the pavement. The damage that was caused was to the bottom of the vehicle (scratches) and also the left side splash shield was cracked and it hanging off. The replacement of the left side splash shield was estimated to be $66.81 alone, by the mechanic, without including the scratches. The car was shipped to me Friday at 5:30pm. I could not go to the register the car at the DMV because of the weekend and the holiday on Monday (Presidents day). When I finally drove it on Tuesday I noticed how bad the damage was and could not drive like it. The next day I brought it to the mechanic. In the meantime, I did not get a call back from the company when I made my first complain on Tuesday. It wasn't until Wednesday I actually got to voice my story. The company was unwilling to pay the damages after talking to the mechanic. Each conversation I had with the company about my car, the customer service representative was rude and denied the fact that his driver gave me the papers to sign before the car was fully off the track. He told me their protocol is the driver must give the papers to the customer once car is fully onto the ground but that is not what the driver did. I have pictures and proof on my receipt that there were no damages before the car was put on the transporter yet because I signed before the car was totally down, the company is using this against me. I told him that the driver did not look totally alert and he did not perform the correct procedures for arrival. The call rep insisted that they get drug tested every week, but being in the medical field, it could easily take 6 days for a drug/substance to be flushed out of system. The driver even made a mistake with the color of my car on the receipt. The color of my car is a distinct harbor gray metallic not “beige.” All I wanted was my fees to be paid so I could get my car out of the mechanic. My mechanic even made the price lower so the company or I could pay but Ship Any Car, LLC of Fort Lee, NJ was unable to treat me with kindness or pay for the damages they caused. Pictures and documentation upon request, just contact me. If you have similar problems I suggest getting advice from lawyers, filing complaints to BBB.org and protectyourmove.gov like just did.
