I wanted to ship a Honda Accord to my brother in Atlanta. My initial plan was to drive the Honda to Georgia and fly home; however, several of my coworkers suggested the idea of an auto transporter. I completed an online request for quotation which I initially thought was for only one trucking company. However I received seven estimates and multiple telephones calls. The prices ranged between $550 and $1075. I have to admit I was skeptical and did not act on it for weeks. However one broker (at the time I did not realize it was a broker) continually called and even sent me an email with a link to this site. Unbelievably the majority of their reviews were negative! Then I started poking around on the website and selected Ratings & Reports followed by Last 30 days. Philam Transport was the first on the list with all positive reviews. It was a Sunday and I figured I would call and leave a message. Gilbert from Philam called me back within an hour. He took the time to explain the entire process and answered all my questions. Up until this point I did not realize the original estimates were from brokers. After speaking with Gilbert, I made up my mind that I was going to let him handle the transport.

He called me Monday mornig to tell me he found a carrier and my vehicle could be picked up as early as the next day. I agreed and he then emailed me all the information within minutes of the call. I had the trucking company name & contacts, the drivers (husband & wife team) along with their contact information, the trucking company’s insurance information, the trucking company’s profile/history, and finally three references (one was an auto dealership) that used the trucking company. That evening the driver called me and said they would be at my location by the next afternoon (they were in North Jersey) and that they would call me approximately one hour before arriving. They called the next day and said they would arrive between 3:15 and 3:30PM and they did! I was the eighth car on an eight car carrier headed for VA, GA, and FL. They told me they might have the car in Georgia late the next evening and that is exactly what happened. They did ask if my brother would accept the vehicle late, if not, the next morning. They arrived in Atlanta between 9-10:00PM and my brother was happy to accept the vehicle at that time.

I was extremely nervous (and confused at first by the brokers) about shipping a car. Gilbert took the time to work with me answering all my questions. I contacted him several times for additional information and he always responded immediately. I did not deal with the trucking company directly, but the husband and wife team definitely set my mind at ease when they arrived. They inspected the vehicle, carefully loaded it, and delivered it early. Bottom line, I called Gilbert on Sunday, made the arrangements on Monday, my vehicle was picked up on Tuesday, and then delivered Wednesday evening.
