My first time using a transport service. I was in search of an enclosed transport for my vehicle. After reading so many horror stories on bad transport deliveries, I wanted to make sure I did my research. My vehicle was still a few days away from dealer availability and come to find the pickup location wasn't on an ideal route for most transporters especially where enclosed trailers are harder to come by. So it was an endless search of going through reviews and user feedback, then narrowing it to a short list of vendors before I decided with Haul Away Logistics (HAL). Riley from HAL contacted me right away to discuss my options. I was given a reasonable estimate on cost and the scheduled Monday pickup day which was right on time. And so started the waiting game. A couple of days passed with no communication and no update on a transporter as we headed into the weekend. Riley tried her best to accommodate over the weekend and reassured the transporter was ready and will meet the Monday pickup as scheduled, however I still did not get contract info from dispatcher to me to sign off on.

Monday at noon the dealership contacted me for an update on the transporter status. After a bit of calling around I finally got a hold of Riley and was notified the assigned transporter was unable to make the pickup so now she would have to assign another. It was already late in the day so it may take a day before someone else can be found. On Tuesday the bid was finally picked up by another transporter, Kwik Trans Inc. but the price was a bit higher over the estimated quote so I felt it was still reasonable and agreed. Riley was finally able to send over the dispatch info and contract to sign off. But since it was already midday the pickup was pushed to Wednesday morning instead while my vehicle sits in the snow.

Wednesday morning the dealership was contacted by the transport driver, Victor, who indicated his truck broke down en route. The situation was slowly unraveling before me. I notified Riley and she quickly got to work on locating another transporter asap. But once again, this may take some more time yet again and may push back the scheduled pickup. An hour later Victor called to indicate he fixed the problem (loose engine electrical wire) and was still able to make the pickup if I wanted him to. He explained problem is solved but when these issues happen it can be fixed. Most people would have ran away in a situation where the truck breaks down before it even arrived, a clear sign of red flags there, but I had to weigh my options and given the time crunch, it may be days before the next driver can get picked up. Also I felt Victor was being honest and at least notified me of his issue before the pickup happened. So I rolled the dice and agreed on the pickup for Wednesday before noon with a delivery estimate on Saturday/Sunday.

Thursday night, I get a call from Victor stating he is running ahead of schedule and should arrive a day early on Friday evening! Friday morning he calls again and stated he will actually arrive at 3pm in which he parked just outside my neighborhood. I walked out to greet him and while he was unloading the vehicle from the enclosed trailer. We did a check on the vehicle and everything was perfect.

So overall, the experience started off a bit stressful but in the end the vehicle made it on time (from pickup) to it's destination. So next time I would definitely go with Haul Away Logistics again.
