Be forewarned if you are about to choose Express Auto Transport!!!!!

Prior to placing the transport order and putting a deposit, The customer service informed me that most of the time, the carrier is assigned within 24-48 hours. Only very unusually does it take longer than that. Well after the first week had passed, I contacted Express Auto via email and via phone. They informed me they are right on the verge of getting a carrier. Again I waited several days with no carrier assigned. I call them back again and they said the reason why it's taking so long was probably the pickup and delivery location. Personal assessment - this is a load of BS as the pickup place was within 20 miles of downtown Dallas Fort Worth (major dealership area) and the delivery location within the Washington DC metro (high population center). It is hard to believe the location was to blame.

I told them at the end of second week that I would cancel my order if a carrier was not assigned. Lo and behold right before the 15th day where I would be entitled to get my full refund, they assigned the carrier. Unfortunately there was a switcheroo and the assigned carrier (Cyrus Trucking) said the car was no longer there. How strange?!! Since the car was no longer there, they canceled my order and kept my deposit stating that they have assigned the carrier but it wasn't their fault the car was no longer there!!

I called the dealer in TX and they said it was just picked up by HLL. Who asked HLL to pick up the car since I never asked for them nor have I heard of them. The dealer said they didn't request HLL, and they thought that I had requested them. Not knowing who is responsible there was nothing that I can do but to take delivery of the car when it finally came after the third week. But upon delivery I found that the company Cyrus Trucking (yep the original dispatched carrier) showed up with my car!! and they demanded full payment. I gave them the full payment otherwise they were going to take my car away and put it in storage!!

Personally I think Cyrus Trucking and HLL are related and may be playing some sort of scam with Express Auto Transport. Lost my deposit and paid full transport costs.

I would never use Express Auto Transport again.

First, Pete was never told by our customer service department that vehicles are normally assigned within 24-48 hours. Our normal timeframe for assignment to an open carrier is 1-7 days. Second, Pete is insinuating that we waited as long as we possibly could to get his vehicle assigned. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our goal is to always have our customers vehicles assigned as soon as possible. As for the vehicle not being there when Cyrus called to schedule pick up, that is true. We did not contact HLL. We have contacted Cyrus Trucking and they did inform us that they did deliver the vehicle after being contacted by HLL due to a personal issue with their driver.
