This was the first time I used a carrier to transport a vehicle. Not just any car, but MY car. Of course I was concerned before I hired them. I found the company on Google and read their reviews. What I liked about Direct Express was that the company responded to the very few poor ratings with their side of the story- other companies didn't.

The vehicle was delivered from Eau Claire, Wi to Miami, Fl. Granted, Miami is a large metropolis, and that probably decreased the transport time, but I'm sure if I lived in a small town in Florida, it still would have been here within 10 days. Direct Express contracted the delivery to Rapid Recovery & Transport. I've never heard of them, but the driver performed as if he was an employee of Direct Express. He was professional and courteous upon delivery and delivered the car at 8:00 AM, exactly as promised the day before.

I called Direct Express on a Tuesday afternoon. The car was picked up on Thursday 7/22 and was delivered the following Tuesday 7/27. I thought that was exceptional. It would have been here on Monday, but the truck broke down 80 miles from my house on Monday afternoon. It was repaired overnight and on the road early the next day. I was expecting 7 business days for delivery. Delivery time was 5 days, including the weekend!

No, you're not going to get constant updates on where your car is at any given time. No, you can't track it like a UPS package. No, you can't call the driver on the phone and ask him how it's going. Remember, he's transporting 8 cars-you can't expect him to call all 8 owners every day and tell them where he is. However, I did get a call from a representative when it was picked up, and the day before delivery.

The price was a bit higher than others, but you get what you pay for. Don't fall for other companies' claims that they can deliver it in half the time if you "turbocharge" your order(meaning, pay extra). They offer no guarantee that the truck wont break or there will be no accidents on the interstate.

If you're going to use a car transporter, don't just rely on this review. Google companies and you'll see that overwhelmingly, Direct Express is the best one.
