I inherited my Grandfather's 1974 Jeep CJ-5 - which is the physical manifestation of mine and my brother's childhoods; an incredibly sensitive item in many ways. The Jeep started in a very small town, very removed from any major highway artery making the pick-up a financial challenge for the driver (they pick-up where they can get several at once to maximize their income and minimize their cost). This was the only thing that was unclear at the beginning - the times quoted for average pick-up time are precisely that, averages - picking up vehicles on the outer edge of the spectrum can take quite some time. Luckily, I was not pressed for time as it took longer (understandable, after I educated myself on the process) than the average to pick-up The Jeep. Even though, it only took 2 weeks beginning to end.
That said... these people are amazing. True, authentic customer service professionals. Maybe I'm just jaded from decades on the California coast, but everyone from the girls that answer the phone to Gary, who drove the semi-truck with my Grandfather's Jeep on it, were absolutely wonderful.
As an example: Gary arrived at my Grandmother's home and gently and politely gathered The Jeep while providing real, human understanding and consolation to my Grandmother. Try to get THAT from a "moving company." Throughout, Gary was easily reachable. Very personable. And a fun character to chat with. He's a real person - just like my Grandfather. Not to make this an emotional story, but the way that he handled my Grandfather's Jeep (a symbol of the man I idolized as a child) was moving and filled with reverence. He even told me that he would purposefully move it off the truck to load other cars in so he could make sure the top and fenders were never in harm's way.
And yes, I'm taking the $10 from the transporters to post this comment... but it doesn't change the facts. Feel free to email me I'm happy to endorse these people.
