We were left stranded in Roanoke, Virginia when our old car broke down, and had to wait a couple of days to find out that the vehicle had a blown engine and was therefore not worth the cost of repair, so we needed to get a rental to go home (home is Los Angeles, California). Fortunately, we have family in New Jersey, so we compared the cost of having the car trucked to New Jersey instead of California. Toting it to New Jersey was half the price of going all the way to California, so we chose that route.
