Shipped a Honda S2000 from California to my son in Pensacola, Florida on July 19, 2009 . Direct Express Auto Transport is a broker and within a few hours of my placing my order, got a call from them to inform me they have sublet my order to Auto Trans Expert, LLC of Spokane, WA. They gave me Trans Experts' phone number as well as the cell # of the driver assigned to pick up my car. Driver kept in contact on his way to pick up the car. An hour or so before arriving in Pensacola, he also contacted my son. Service was excellent. Driver named Slav (originally from Ukraine) was friendly and took note of any dings/scratches before loading the car. Direct Express is on the higher end, though. I paid a total of $1,550 for an enclosed transport, $150 deposit and the rest payable in FL. Tried asking for a military discount ( my son is new in the navy, Pensacola being his 1st assignment), but no luck. Found out this time that the average cost for this route is $1,200, but, at the time of shipment, I was time pressed as the original transport company that I was hiring and required prepayment (Dependable Auto Shippers) had a terrible customer service that I eventually cancelled. I can see that I could have gotten a lower price from other 5 star companies, but what's important is that my son's car arrived in FL in 5 days undamaged.
