Ok, I admit that I often get nervous using the low cost provider for anything. Direct Express was $125 cheaper than the next lowest quote. I researched this website and as always, I read only the negative reviews. Direct Express seems like a high volume operation and I am sure every now and then a customer's expectations are not met. And I am sure that every now and then a customer's expectations are unrealistic. The negative reviews I read seemed to have an element of the unrealistic expectation on the customer's part. I don't think I read anything about damage problems - which was really my primary concern. I spent a year and a half restoring my vehicle - I did not care if it was a few days late - damage was the more important issue. As it turns out, using Direct Express also was very, very fast. Four days from a small hard to reach location in CT to my home in MI. Driver (Peter Mbatia of Southeastern), was very courteous and called ahead of time to arrange pick up and delivery. I could not have asked for better service from Mr. Mbatia.

All of these Transport Brokers use basically the same business model. They take your order and post it for independent drivers to pick up. Why pay $125 more to another broker when in the end your car will likely be picked up by possibly the same driver?

And, I'm not sure I see the advantage of using a company that claims to use all their own trucks. Some of those companies may take your car to a central staging city for unloading, then reloading to a truck heading to your city. The key to reduce risk and improve delivery times is not to have your vehicle loaded and unloaded more then once - if at all possible. And just because the company that takes your order also owns the truck - why does that necessarily mean a better experience?

If I was transporting a $12M Ferrari, I might use a custom carrier with enclosed transport that specializes in high end vehicles....but for more routine transport, and a low cost / high quality provider - Direct Express would be my choice.
