After contacting other brokers and then a last minute change of plans, we needed to have our car picked up at my in-laws house rather than our old one. We selected expedited shipping with Direct Express Auto Transport and dropped the car off on our way to our final destination. Pickup was not assigned until about a week later (expedited says 90% within 1-4 days) but not surprised as this area was probably not a hotbed of activity for auto transporters to pickup and drop-off cars. We weren't in too much of a hurry to receive the car, other than having it removed from the in-laws driveway! :)

The driver called them the day before pickup, as well as the a couple of times the day of with status. He mentioned he had some issues with other pickups and traffic which was causing him to run behind schedule. In the last status call he mentioned it could be sometime after 9PM before he was able to pick it up, and they mutually agreed to do it the next morning. The next morning he was there bright and early to load the car, and told them that he would have the car to us that night (originally scheduled to take 2 days.) He called us a few times on his way letting us know what's happening, also telling us later in the day that he was running late due to a difficult pickup (he told us the story when he dropped our car off - did sound like a pain!) Anyhow it was 10PM at night when he showed up with the car, unloaded it as we chit chatted about his day, paid him, and away we went.

Although the pickup was late (but delivered early!) and it took a week to be assigned, overall a very positive experience. I would choose Direct Express Auto Transport again should I need to have another vehicle shipped.
