I was forced to use this company since I went through a broker, Mercury Auto Transport, to have my car transported from GA to CA.
Eric (from Mercury AUto Transport)promised that my car would be picked up on May 9 and will be delivered within 7-10 days but my car did not get picked up until May 10. After a week, I was getting worried that I haven't received a call regarding my car. On the 18th, I called Dependable Auto Shippers and found out that my car is still in GA and ETA is May 23. One or two days later, was informed that the ETA is May 25. I was also informed that DAS HAS A CONTRACT with MAT THAT TRANSPORT WILL TAKE UP TO 15 DAYS, and the 25th is the 15th day. Called Eric to complain about it but he just directed me to his boss "Charlie" and he could not help me since he is "in California" and not in front of his computer. And HE DID CONFIRM that he guaranteed 7-10 days. Called Charlie who waived the $100 deposit, which is their commission, and said that Eric should not have made promises like that. $100 is not even half of what I paid for the extension of my car rental! They directed me to DAS since there is nothing else they can do about it.
Now, I did not have any choice but to just deal with DAS. I waited until the 25 but my car still has not arrived. My car arrived on the 27th, which is 17 days after pickup. On the 26th, I spoke to someone from DAS and complained about it. I mentioned the supposedly 15-day contract of DAS with MAT, but the manager I spoke to kept on insisting that the 27th is still within the time frame and the date initially provided (the 25th), is just an ETA and the arrival of my car is still in the time frame.
Lessons learned: AVOID BROKERS, DON'T EVER USE MERCURY AUTO TRANSPORT AND DEPENDABLE AUTO SHIPPERS if you don't want to be ripped off and if you want your car to be delivered ON TIME as promised.
