I completely agree with all the negative reviews on this website and, prior to booking, I thought that I would be one of the exceptions - one of the positive reviews. Boy, was I wrong.

The car was dropped off at the origin terminal over 14 days ago. Guess where it still is?: the origin terminal.

DAS offered me an estimated "delivery date" that would have been three days from now, they then changed it to a later date, and I found out today that it has once again been moved (we're now batting at seven days after what should have been the original delivery date). Unfortunately, I'm moving and I mistakenly thought that giving myself five extra days prior to my move would be a safe buffer... but it wasn't.

A note about their customer service is this: they will answer their phones immediately when it comes to answering general questions or booking your move (and both people I talked to were incredibly pushy about booking the move at that very instant). BUT, when it comes down to asking questions about where your car has disappeared to, they will be very slow in answering your call. I called twice and faced over 15 minutes (each time) of top 40's hold music (of which, I'm fairly certain that they do not have the legal rights to).

After the first extensive wait time, I called my editor to ask about what I should do and she suggested that I put their service to the test and allow them to redeem themselves by asking what steps I could take to expedite the process and what they would be able to do on my behalf. I spoke to a woman named Michelle and God bless her soul, but she was as helpless as a lame mule. I asked what could be done, fully expecting her to take proactive actions to find out how to get this car moving or to, at the very least, ask me where I was moving to and if I would like to change my delivery location. Nope, I did not get either option (or any option for that matter). She told me that there was nothing to be done and repeated that it was an estimated move date and, though she said that the company was very busy and was flooded by all the post-holiday car shipments, said a contradicting statement where she said that they could not move the car because they didn't have enough cars to fill their truck. And yes, I called her out on this and she was a little caught off-guard.

Luckily, though my thoughts are disjointed right now, I did not take this task without an ulterior motive as I was to review this car shipper for the largest newspaper in Chicago with a possible print in southern Illinois - for a summer-time review of car shippers to benefit those who are moving and are looking for car shippers. Hopefully, my experience will be able to help other IL residents avoid this heinous mistake.

In the mean time, please consider other reliable shippers. A few of my colleagues have already reviewed Direct Express Auto Transport, FedEx, First Class Auto Transport, and National Auto Shipping; all with incredibly positive reviews. Clearly, I was stuck with the dud.

At this point, all I can hope is that I get this car...eventually and that this company will apologize so I have something relatively decent to write in my review.

DAS has researched this report. The vehicle was picked up at the customer's request three days before Christmas on a one day notice. Regrettably, we failed to properly advise this customer of the potential holiday delays (our drivers like to spend family time during the holidays as most people do) which caused a delay in our ETA of approximately 5 days. Please keep in mind that this customer did not purchase a guaranteed transit time option, so the "due date" is only an estimate. We apologize for not explaining this clearly enough and the inconvenience caused.
