I called Jonathan at AmeriFreight on June 17 to schedule a Priority Preferred rate transport of my car from Richmond, VA to Sausalito, CA. I told Jonathan during the first phone call that I wanted my car delivered to CA on July 24th. I also told him I would defer to his experience and expertise as to when to schedule the pickup date to meet that delivery requirement. I explained to him that I knew I would have to rent a car at one end of the transaction and that I wanted that rental to be at the Richmond end since I was familiar with Richmond and would be less stressed in a rental car there than I would be in CA. Jonathan picked the first date for the car to be available for pickup to be July 16th. I asked him if the car would be in CA by July 24th and he said it would. Well, you can probably imagine the rest of the story! My car was picked up on July 23rd on the very morning I was flying out of Dulles and I had to meet the transport driver before leaving for the airport. The car was not delivered to CA until the night of August 4th.
I was very disappointed with the way AmeriFreight dropped the ball in meeting my time requirements, especially since I gave them from June 17 until July 24th to get my car from VA to CA. If I had not called on the Tuesday before I was leaving VA, I really think my last day would have found my car sitting in my garage at home. I thought AmeriFreight's job was to coordinate the pickup to meet the customer's need for delivery within a time frame. I guess I was wrong about that.
Because the wondow of opportunity for pickup of my car was rapidly disappearing, the actual transporter had to be recruited by Raechel by offering a bonus for pick-up within a designated period of time. I had no complaints about TIRAuto, Inc., the transporter.
I would not recommend AmeriFreight based on my experience. And to think I paid up for Priority Preferred service!

We do apologize for the delay. Typically, an order placed well ahead of time does help accomodate desired dates. This customer placed the order at the Priority Rate. This rate does not guarantee a delivery date, it is always estimated. Only our First Class service offers guarantee delivery dates. Our team will work within the conditions given to us by the customer. We are sorry the delivery date was later than desired; however, again, we can only guarantee that with the First Class option. We are glad to hear the customer was pleased with the carrier and that the vehicle was recieved in good condition. This order was handled by our Shipping Agent- Jonathan, direct line- 678-369-4162.
