The first part of my experience with AmeriFreight was good and as advertised, but once they passed me off to the carrier they disappeared and were of no help.
The truck that was to pick up our vehicle in NY was scheduled for Monday or Tuesday and then the driver called and said his truck had broken down and he would be late. We then got a call from the driver on Friday demanding we meet him in a parking lot a good distance away with the car.
When we met the driver he berated us and claimed he would have to charge more due to the ski rack on the car (which was explained to AmeriFreight in the initial car when they asked if the car had been altered).
After 10 days, I called to get a status report on the car. I got nothing from the driver and inquiries to my AmeriFrieght rep went unanswered (apparently he was "on vacation").
We finally got a call out of the blue from a different driver a few days later say he was near our house and we needed to meet him in the next hour or he would take our car to a storage lot.
We picked up the car and it was disgusting inside and out. The drivers put their dirty hands all over the interior and left windows open during the cross country drive so there was a layer of road grime all over. Additionally, a car above our on the transport leaked something all over our roof and destroyed the paint.
Inquiries to AmeriFreight have gone unanswered...they got their money...bye, bye.

We are extremely sorry that this customer had a poor experience with our company. We expect excellent service to be provided not only by our staff, but our carrier's as well. The customer booked at the Priority rate which helps to ensure a pickup within 5 business days, which did occur; however, we are disappointed that the driver was insisting more money. Every carrier that fails to offer excellent service, goes through a review process to continue qualification as a Preferred Carrier. Any damage incurred during transit can be submitted as an insurance claim if reported to the carrier and/or our office. If a staff member is ever out of the office, another staff member can assist. This person's order was handled by our Shipping Agent, Aaron- direct line 678-552-4079.
