Confusing

I was not able to get a carrier in the original 5-day Economy window, so I paid the extra $100 to go up to the next level of service. A carrier was located on the second day at that rate, but they had bid a rate that required me to pay $140 more. I was confused about whether I was guaranteed a pickup within the 2nd 5-day range, and never thought I got a clear answer - just that I "could refuse the offer." I think it would have been easier to go with a company that gave me a guaranteed rate up front because I ended up paying more than many of the other carriers I got quotes from after all the additional costs.
