I searched all over the internet researching the ratings, reviews, and prices of our nation's auto-transporters and when I was finished I was filled with trepidation in having to select a company to ship my car. Even the highest rated companies seemed to have one or two horrible reviews, and so I was at a loss as to which company to choose. Now that I've lived through my first experience of shipping a car cross-country, I believe that it is the stressful nature of the whole process that results in the majority of nasty reviews.

I chose to go with AmeriFreight, their quote was reasonable, their customer service not pushy, and their ratings high. The car was picked up just 4 days (2 if you don't count Sat and Sun) after the first day I reported it would be available. I anticipated (based on my research) that it could take 0-14 days to get my car picked up from the first day it is made available, so I was pleasantly surprised when it was picked up promptly. Also, one should expect to be notified of pickups only 24-48 hrs in advance (I think that's just the nature of the industry). AmeriFrieght called me the day after the first day my car was available to tell me that the carrier would be calling me soon (24 hrs before they will be in my area) to schedule a pick-up. 2 days later I got the call, and a day after that (in the time window, no doubt) the carrier was at my door collecting my car. A week later, my car arrived at its destination in the same condition it left. It was perfect; I flew into town just hours earlier.
