I requested a quote to move my '82 Toyota pickup from Virginia to Washington State. Promptly receiving a quote for around $800 (other carriers were in the $14-1600 range) but they claim their large volume keeps prices low. I called to confirm but was told my info was entered wrong and the actual cost would be around $1,500. The person also explained that they are simply a broker and can't guarantee a price further explaining I would be in the ball park of $1500-$1850 but not any higher. This was on par with what I was hearing from other carriers so I went ahead. After a few days of no word i reached out again, explaining we were in the process of moving from VA to WA and our departure date was in just a few days with my truck being the last thing left to ship. The next day I receive a call back telling me the driver would be there to pick up my truck in 2 hours, and it would be $2,100. When I complained for the continued price increases and short notice I was met with a "meh" attitude. By this time I had already left the state having a friend agree to meet the driver and load my truck which was thankfully uneventful. I assumed this was the end of my headache, taking my lumps as an expensive lesson to never ship a car with this company again. Being told my truck would take approx 7 days to arrive I passed the info along to my brother as we would likely still be driving ourselves across the country. The driver arrived on day 4, (better early than late) thankfully my brother was able to receive and make final payment that was required to be in cash, the driver was exceptionally rude and stated only drug dealers would pay to ship this old of a truck across the country, repeatedly asking where we had hidden either drugs or money since he wasn't able to see anything obvious. My brother laughed it off telling him it's been in the family since New and I'm only the 2nd owner with sentimental attachment. The driver made a few more remarks about smuggling drugs being behind it. The whole experience was frustrating from the get-go and then being accused of "smuggling drugs" really added the insult to injury. I'm giving 1 star for getting the truck there and 1 in the hopes they aren't attached to the driver. I'd go ANYWHERE else before using these scam artists.
