I chose this company because it was the cheapest but little did I know that I had to deal with a lot of issues. I had a number of problems.

1. They said they would send me a shipping aid email but a few weeks passed and I still didn't get it. I emailed my sale agent a few times and even called and left her a message but still no reply. Finally I was able to reach to a different agent and got the email.

2.I was quoted $725 to ship my car from CA to IL and I chose economy. However as the first available date was approaching but I still haven't heard from anyone. I called and was told that I should upgrade to priority to guarantee that my car would be ship within two days of the first available day, so I paid $200 to upgrade it because I had a flight to catch. The carrier was supposed to call me within 24 hours before pick up day to confirm the time when the car was supposed to be picked up, but I did not receive any phone car so the following day (on the day when it was supposed to be picked up), I had to call Amerifreight after I couldn't reach the carrier. Finally, that morning, the carrier called me and said he was in LA and he would be at my place (San Francisco) in 6-7 hours. I waited the whole day but still haven't heard from him and by the evening, I called him. At first he didn't realize who I was, and then he said he couldn't make it that day and he would be at my place tomorrow afternoon instead, but my flight was the following day. I was upset because I paid $200 to upgrade it to make sure it would be shipped within two days- -not after 2-3 days. I told him my situation and he said I could just leave the car key hidden somewhere near the car. Of course I could not do that and leave my car unattended with the key lying around, so I had to reschedule my flight to stay back another day. I called AmeriFreight to complain but they offered to put my car back on economy or find another carrier. However that would still delay picking up my car even more. After being transferred to several people over the phone, the supervisor finally gave me only $100 refund. I was so tired that I just wanted the car shipped out so I gave in.

3. Two guys came the following afternoon and picked up my car. I was expecting some big truck with cars but they came in a small new BMW. After inspecting my car for 2 min, one guy drove my car away. I thought to myself maybe they have a truck parked somewhere near by?? After a few days, they called a day ahead to tell us that the car will arrived the following morning at 10am. The next day came and finally by 3pm, they arrived in two separate cars- -one was my car and the other was the BMW; Again, I would think that there would be a big truck. They got their money and left. The car smelled like armpit; there were a few dark marks on the passenger's seat. The gas tank went from 2/3 fully pumped to less than half. It did make me think if my car was driven across country or was really transported on a truck.

Overall, I had a horrible experience and I would never use them again. I had to always track them down to get what I need. The carrier was unprofessional and suspicious. It may be a good price but it is definitely not worth all the hassle. I wish I chose the other company at a little higher price. At least they would guarantee and confirm the pick up day when the order is made. At the end, I actually paid a lot more than I wanted. I could have saved money and time with the other companies.

We are disappointed that this customer did not experience an excellent and smooth shipping experience with AmeriFreight. Originally, the customer chose to ship with the Economy rate. With the Economy rate vehicles typically get picked up in 1-5 days. Closer to her shipping window, she communicated that she had a flight to catch; so our shipping agent strongly recommended the Priority rate. As in any shipping situation, delays can happen. We shared with the customer that she did the right thing in not leaving her key with her unattended car. We were disappointed to find out about the delay and that it caused the customer to reschedule her flight. We do apologize for the lack of communication and nonprofessional way the carrier responded. Every carrier we use is held to certain standards and if those standards are not met, they are removed from our preferred carrier list.
