Long weight time to be matched with a truck driver to pick up the car. Car arrival time to destination was late resulting in higher personal cost and work disruption. Price quote is higher than other brokers. Cost to ship a subcompact car was $2500 from Philadelphia to Seattle. Brokers over promise and under deliver, which is not specific to AmeriFreight. Tigers direct and others operated similarly. Several brokers quoted a lower price at the start but then increased the price of shipping significantly upon matching you to a driver and date of pickup. By this time, 1-2 weeks have passed since the initial quote. Some brokers never followed up. No one is available to answer questions after the initial quote. Cash payment was required to the truck driver upon receiving the car seem a little shady. No written receipt at end of transaction. No tracking of car during shipping. Even a small package sent by mail is tracked. Why not a car?
