AmeriFreight was able to find a carrier for my auto shipment in a competitive market with a shortage of drivers, increasing costs, and long delays. I’ve shipped my auto with other carriers before since we move frequently with the military. AmeriFreight was more responsive during the move process than previous brokers. AmeriFreight receives three stars because though they provided great support after shipment (and their payment) their responsiveness during the initial inquiry and contracting was subpar. They were not easily reached by email concerning the quote and did not make much effort to provide many details. Once on the phone they provided more details but the assistant was not familiar with the shipping operation and could not provide much detail about likelihood of the shipment being picked up at each rate. Most importantly, after placing the auto on the board for a driver to bid on, there was no feedback given about AmeriFreight needing to raise the price until they called one day saying that they had received an offer. This offer was $1000 over the mail economy rate that was first provided. I was okay paying the price (clearly since I’m writing this contract-required review and have received my car) but I expected a phone call or email if they were not receiving bids at the economy price and needed to raise the bid. By the time they contacted me so much else had gone wrong with our cross country move I was okay paying the price to at least have the second car to ease our adjustment to a new area. In all, AmeriFreight did their job, they just lacked in communication with the customer.

We are sorry you experienced a less than satisfactory level of communication with your customer service agent. Typically, when an order is placed as far in advance as yours, carriers will not reach out to us until the days leading up to the first available shipment date, as most do not plan their routes beyond 1 week out. We would also like to add that while we appreciate feedback from our customers and request reviews of their experience, a review is never a requirement. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
