Terrible estimate and bad communication from AmeriFreight

Went with AmeriFreight as they seemed to be well-regarded as a broker. Spent some time reviewing options more than a month in advance of the move and deciding to ship rather than figure out alternate arrangements (pay a friend to drive, etc). We were assured the quotes are typically very accurate and it would cost about $1,200 with a 3 day pickup window based on the dates & locations we provided. $2,400 and 2 weeks after our desired start date we finally had a driver. There was an offer available earlier and after a quick regroup re: sticker shock (double what we had been quoted) nobody at AmeriFreight responded to calls or emails trying to confirm the order until the next day, and the carrier was already spoken for. It was extra frustrating to receive regular automated text messages throughout that time alerting me that a carrier was available and to contact AmeriFreight immediately. YES - I'm trying to speak with somebody but nothing other than your automated text service bothers to reply. The driver did a great job and delivered the car right within the estimated transit time (7-10 days) and was prompt at returning calls. The only positive part of the process was the person who wasn't an AmeriFreight employee.
