On a positive note, Maleah Sanders was very responsive and stayed with me through the entire process. Overall the experience was tolerable but there are some things you need to understand going in. 1: Your "Estimate" is a low-ball number to get you to sign up with them. Once you give them(Amerifreight) a deposit, then your vehicle is posted to a board for actual transport carriers(companies with trucks) to bid on. for example: they estimated mine at about $850, but my final cost to ship was about $1250. 2: there will be delays in shipping- it is not an exact science. The first transport company I was offered ended up cancelling so I was reposted and a new offer came in of $100 more than the first. I said I wouldn't go any higher than the original estimate and she lowered it right away so there must be some flexibility in that number. Ultimately the car arrived undamaged but 4 days later than I originally was promised. In my case, it wasn't a huge deal but I understood that going in. At the beginning of my search, I received a quote from an actual transport company (they own the trucks) for $1250 but went with Amerifreight because of their low estimate of $850...but ended up still paying the $1250 and dealing with headaches. If I ever have to ship a car again, I will find an company that owns the trucks - not a broker like amerifreight.
