I needed to ship my daughter’s car from Florida to California but after reading the ratings and reviews on several companies it was a little daunting. I chose AmeriFreight because they seemed to be a more established broker though they had some worrisome reviews. I received a quote and decided to book it but did not know how the process worked so I called the office to discuss. This is where I had the biggest issue. I called several times, left a message and waited on hold for 40 minutes and was never able to get into contact with anyone. However I received a email assigning me to Danielle Roth and we messaged back and forth the details and I authorized them to post my car. Several days later I missed a call from the company but received messages that they had a carrier and to call immediately to confirm booking. Of course I couldn’t get in touch with anyone. The messages I was getting said they were coming from Danielle but when I called her line it said she was out of the office. At this point I was pretty frustrated so I responded back to the email a little snarky. Within minutes they were calling again and I was able to answer. I spoke to another lady, I don’t remember her name. She told me the price was much higher than quoted because of the pandemic (which has been going on long before and while I requested my quote) and also that the car would get there before my daughter to sign for it so that wasn’t going to work. She wasn’t nice or helpful in explaining anything to me but after some back and forth I understood how it worked and that I would have to post the car at a later date so it wouldn’t arrive too soon. About a week later I reached out to Danielle and we went through the process again - through email. I did speak on the phone with her when she found a carrier and though she was very nice I did feel rushed to sign the contract and make a partial payment. It was still for a higher price than quoted and I don’t even know what AmeriFreight’s fee was. Thankfully everything went smooth with the pick up and delivery and the car arrived undamaged. I’m only giving three stars because of the difficulty in contacting the company which lead to not knowing how the whole process worked and posting too early and also because I feel the quote was misleading. Hopefully I never have to ship a car again but if I did I would use them. The devil you know, right? 1501915636-WC
