Disappointed

After spending much time reading the reviews on several different companies, we chose Amerifreight despite it being more expensive than most other quotes we received because its reviews were so high. Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience. I placed an order (and sent faxed confirmation) on APRIL 17th and we didn't receive our vehicle until MAY 9th. We went with the economy rate at first. I was told on two separate occasions that 50 dollars was added to get the car moved, however on day 12 (April 29) Leslie told me that she didn't know why the 50 hadn't been added, so she added it. (Later was told by Raechel that 50 was added on the 27th???) On April 30th, day 13, I upgraded to priority for what I understood to be $175 because that's the price I had in an original e-mail. However, over the phone with Raechel I squabbled over $15 dollars repeatedly as she insisted it was $190. I e-mailed her my original e-mail with the $175 price on 2 different occasions. The first time, she said she didn't get it, the second time I e-mailed it to her personal address. Still no answer. The day I upgraded, they said they had a carrier. However, the carrier didn't pick the vehicle up until 11:00 the next night!! I was expecting the vehicle on May 5th or 6th, so when I called (Leslie) on May 4th to check on the vehicle (because I hadn't been contacted by anyone yet) I was told that the "truck broke down" and that I was switched to a different carrier and to expect my vehicle a day late or so. At this point I was extremely frustrated. I left Raechel a message, no return call for 24 hours. Got her on the line the next day and expressed dissatisfaction. She assured me that she would talk to her supervisor about my situation (because I saw no point in paying the full amount). That's the last time I talked to her. Still no return call (or e-mail). It got worse. On May 7th, the day I thought I may FINALLY get the car, I got a call from the new carrier and he told me that he had picked up the car the DAY BEFORE on May 6th!! No telling where it sat from the 1st till the 6th??!! It arrived in good shape on the 9th (at 11:30 pm) The worst business deal/experience of my life. I was warned about auto transport, but this was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
Then how about the rebate?? Was told $50, then the e-mail says $30 and $50 dollars in 2 different spots?? Not surprising.

Every less than excellent review Amerifreight received from a customer is subject to our own internal review. As is evident from the majority of our customer reviews, we do follow up and communicate. In Michael's case our records indicate that we have responded within reasonable time to Michael's communication and requests. It is not always possible that we respond immediately but we always follow up within 24 hours and earlier depending on the urgency of the call. Regarding the additional payments: Michael mentioned that he was concerned that we only added $50 twelve (12) days after the order was placed. Our records show that $60 was added on the 5th business day (4/24). And then on the day Michael called to inquire on the 12th, an additional $50 was added in order to help get the vehicle moved. After not being able to secure a carrier still and Michael's situation became urgent, we recommended he upgrade to Priority. Michael added the extra $190 and we added another $50 of ours. In the end AmeriFreight had added $160 total to help get Michael's vehicle moved promptly. It was very unfortunate that on top of the difficulties we experienced with pickup, the truck moving the vehicle broke down several times. The carrier worked around the clock to get all his dispatches done and did as much as he could in order to nurse the truck back to get its headquarters to do final repairs. This was the main reason for the delays and this does happen. The dispatching of another truck also may lead to delays due to rescheduling. The terms and conditions of all transportation companies specify that breakdowns do happen and can be the cause for delays. In spite of all this the vehicle was delivered in reasonable time. As for the rebate discrepancy, we have recently changed the rebate amount and conditions. We will honor all rebates for those customers who placed their orders that qualified for the determined rebate at the time of the order.
