The primary reason for less than a 5 star review was due to the lack of upfront information on the actual cost from Jae. As far as their service, follow up/responsiveness and deliver of service I couldn’t have asked for more. What I learned from this process is all car transport services are the agent go between with the actual shipping company and they all utilize the same shipping board for cost to transport. During the inquiry stage, I received several prices ranging from $890 to $1275, most were in the mid $900. What I found was apples and oranges in what the prices included. What I now believe is some bids were for the lowest type of car (subcompact) and included the Agents fee and some seemed to be for just the actual shipper’s cost without the agent’s fee. The $1275 (first one I received) was the most accurate and open proposal. The agent broke down the current shipping board for my midsize SUV at $975 plus the agent fee of $300. My proposed price from AmeriFrieght was $890 and as I found out from the Agent (Bobbie) that booked my shipment was this quote was for shipping a Prius (not my midsize SUV) and supposedly included the agency fee. My final cost including AFta insurance was $1326. The reason I went ahead and booked with AmeriFreight was that Bobbie finally broke down all the cost and from my first bid of $1275, I now believe that regardless of which Agency I utilized the cost was going to be in the $1200 to $1300 range. So, in conclusion my recommendation is get a breakdown over the phone from one of the top 10 rated shippers and go with it, avoid all the hassle. Make sure the price is for your size vehicle and that it includes all taxes/fees, specifically the agency fee.
