bad follow through/communication

AmeriFreight does not seem to have their paperwork in order, nor is it easy to communicate with them. To sum up--they started with one price.. When they had a bid from a carrier, they called me., it was higher... I agreed... They arranged for a pickup on a Sunday. When the guy calls...ready to pick up, he then sees they sent him the wrong amount on the contract.. after staying home all day for the pick up, they started saying they could not pick up the car. NO one would answer the phone at AmeriFreight to straighten this out,.. I finally was able to speak to a manager from the transport company and assured him we had agreed to the higher price.. thankfully he trusted me, and in the end he picked up the car... Not because of anything AmeriFreight did to help..but only because he was trusting... super frustrating! Can't tell you how many phone calls he and I made to AmeriFrieght and no one answered. Correct paperwork to begin with would have alleviated this problem. Then at delivery, they still had the wrong paperwork and when my college age daughter had the cash to give him to accept the car, it was more than he was expecting (because we had agreed on a higher price) and again, he said he couldn't take the money and wouldn't leave her the car. I spoke with her numerous times, and told her the problem, and also talked to the delivery guy myself on the phone...after many phone calls and frustrations, he finally took the money and gave her the car. Again, AmeriFreight did not help initially because they could not be reached by phoneby the time they answered and "dealt with the issue", it had already been resolved between my daughter and the freight guy . they were of no help at all, although tried to say they fixed it... (after the fact) Whole experience was stressful and I would not use this broker again.. There are many to choose from.. Find one that will have their paperwork in order--on BOTH ends, and someone who will answer the phone!

We apologize for any frustrations this customer encountered. An error was made on the initial paperwork sent to the carrier, but was immediately corrected by our staff and updated in the carrier company's documentation. It appears when the customer attempted to call our office, we were closed, as it was on a Sunday. While we cannot attest to the carrier's paperwork or refusal to accept money from the customer, we can confirm that the paperwork error on our side was corrected right away.
