AmeriFrieght Really Let Us Down

Unfortunately these folks really let us down and left us with the impression they just want to get their cut of the fee, then leave. I had to move my daughter from college in Florida back to California. I originally sought a 3-day pick up option. Ship-A-Car Direct quoted me $1100 for the option, but Karen from AmeriFreight said she found a company offering a "guaranteed pick up date" for $1300 so i booked it. I flew to Florida to be there when Unique Transport picked up the car. When no one called a couple days out from picked up I started calling AmeriFrieght and got no response to voice mails or emails. The day of the pick up no one showed up to pick up the car. I called the carrier itself, and they said AmeriFrieght booked them for a 3-day pick up window, not a guaranteed date. When i went back to AmeriFrieght and finally got through to someone they said that the representative that was working with me "was no longer with the company" and my booking was supposed to be assigned to another representative who was supposed to contact me. It is my hope that we are unique, and this was a glitch with AmeriFrieght, but how they handled the glitch is why I am writing a negative review. They really didn't seem to care that I flew to Florida for a pick up date that I paid for that was never really arranged. On the flip-side Unique Transport did a great job, delivering the car in 7 days with no issues. I would not use them again.

We apologize to this customer for a less than perfect experience with Amerifreight. We hold our customer service agents to high standards when it comes to frequent communication with each and every customer. We hope that this customer will give us another chance to show the level of customer service he should have received during this first shipment. We apologize for any confusion the customer may have had about a delayed pick up. This customer chose a rate that did not include a guaranteed pick up or delivery date, and the shipping date itself was within a 2 day time frame of the estimated pick up date.
