I needed my car shipped from New Jersey to Washington. There was no urgency for me to get my car so I chose Amerifreight's economy pricing of $1040 (the quoted price was the total price I paid - thumbs up). They are the only company that I encountered that had pricing levels (and trust me, I did a lot of research). I liked this concept because it gave me more options. Their most expesive (fastest) shipping option was actually around the same price that other companies quoted me for their regular service. Amerifreight had excellent customer service. I placed my order online and, literally, in seconds I recieved a call from them stating that there was a carrier in New Jersey that would be ready to pick up my car the next day (1 day earlier than what I requested - I didn't mind this at all). I assumed that since I paid the cheapest price for shipping that I would have to wait a while before they even contacted me with an available carrier. The fact that they contacted me this quickly and that they treated me like I was actually a valued customer ensures that I will use Amerifreight for future shipments.

On another note, my car was actually picked up 1 day late from the day they told me (which I didn't mind because they were early for pick-up anyway). It was completely out of Amerifreight's hands that the carrier's (OK Auto, Inc.) truck broke down on the scheduled pick up date.

My suggestions for first-time shippers is to do your homework (research, research, reasearch). Do not pick a company just because they have 5 stars, pick a company based on their consistency in maintaining excellence and their proven experience. Once you have picked a broker and they assign a carrier to you, before you sign that contract, research the carrier; just because the broker is excellent it doesn't mean that the carrier they assign to you will be also.
