Overpromised and underdelivered

Customer service for the most part was courteous. Economy rate was affordably priced. I opted for the first class delivery (with guaranteed delivery date). Unfortunately the carrier they provided was not able to meet that date.

The carrier they provided was late to pick up (the reason they gave me was that they were having mechanical problems with the truck), and late to deliver (this time, they blamed the long holiday the week before).

I found it sometimes difficult to reach the particular agent that I had been communicating with over the phone. This led to me mistakenly thinking that partial refund that he offered me if the delivery was not on time would come from Amerifreight, and not from the carrier, which I paid in full. I was not offered any recourse afterwards.

Overall, could have been a worse experience, but I would not recommend opting for their first class service (and the associated premium). The guaranteed delivery date is not a hard guarantee and any partial refund apparently must be negotiated in person with the carrier upon delivery, including how much of a partial refund (instead of the $400 that I was told when I booked it). Had I known this I would have just chose their economy rate or looked elsewhere.
