Reasonably good company

I did a lot of research into these companies before settling on this one. It seems like these companies are really hit-or-miss (mostly miss), and fortunately for me, my experience with this company wasn't too bad (mostly because I was truly flexible for when the car was picked up/delivered).

My agent was very responsive to my inquiries and patient with my questions, but it took a really long time for my car to get picked up. I chose the most cost-effective option (which was still kinda expensive at $1100, but not more expensive than other companies' quotes). So although I would use this company again, I do have to say that I don't appreciate their open-time-frame policy at all- i.e., the quote they give on their online website is for the estimated 5-7 day pickup window. When my car was not getting picked up in this window, the agent just kept telling me that this cheaper rate is for cancellations only, so only if a carrier had a opening due to cancellation would my car get taken. Now I feel like this is a bit misleading and even though they say that the 5-7days is just an estimate, as a consumer we do all of our life planning around these types of estimates, and then for my car not to get picked up until 22-days is quite an annoyance (oh, also, they later told me the window is 5-7-BUSINESS days, so to them my car didn't get picked up for only 12-days- but we don't live our lives only on business days, so to me it was 22-days). The agent didn't really seem to care too much about the inconvenience, though she did apologize when I finally got a carrier assigned (I had to be pretty proactive about it though). She gave me a couple of offers that had come in for much higher amounts that carriers were asking for ("market" rates, $300-$400 above my quote, which was ridiculous and I declined, so just kept waiting for someone to hopefully pick me up at the originally agreed-upon price). I finally ended up paying a higher amount than my original quote ($115 more), which again wasn't fun, but they got me a reliable carrier who did a great, fast job, so I'm thinking the extra cost was worth it (even though I shake my head when I think about this entire process and how much it isn't in the favor of the consumer!) Luckily, I was truly flexible on the time frame I needed the car in, so this delay didn't matter to me- if I had been in more of time-crunch, my experience probably wouldn't have been the neutral-positive one that it was.

Built-in to the original quote, the company gives you a $50 discount for agreeing to write a review once the car is delivered.
