The service requested was delivery of my auto from Burlington, VT to Half Moon Bay, CA with a preliminary quoted price of $1,360 (included $95 gap insurance). This order was placed on November 15, 2013 with a requested delivery date of December 2nd. Customer service was very good; the representative was knowledgeable and very friendly.
Understandably, Burlington, VT is probably not on a well-traveled trucking route, and a carrier was not located until November 20th, and the price would increase by $295. The driver was returning from California and would spend a few days at home in Vermont before making the trip back to California with my vehicle, the delivery date was uncertain. Not wanting to incur additional potential delays, I agreed to the terms. I dropped my car off at the driver's home on November28th. He was a very friendly guy who carefully inspected my car. He obviously was a professional as he was quickly able to identify numerous minor imperfections in the exterior.
The car was delivered to California on December 12th. I have not seen it as I have been out of the country for most of the month, but my friend who signed for it emailed that it looked fine, but was quite dirty. Apparently the driver had to go through a blizzard, better him than me, so that was also very understandable.
Despite the fact that the car arrived later than I had originally wanted, it actually worked out very well for me. I ended up leaving the country on the intended delivery date, had it arrived on time I would have incurred a substantial bill to park it at the airport.
