I am pretty satisfied with AmeriFreight. I would use them again. Jessica found a carrier fast and answered all my questions about the transport process. The only downsides were my car arrived very dirty, but I guess this is expected after going through the desert on an uncovered carrier. Secondly, I had to pay $100 more than initially quoted. I have heard this is a common occurrence across most brokers.

This was my first time transporting a vehicle. The following information may be useful for any first time transporter such as myself:

- AmeriFreight is a broker. They do not transport your vehicle. They only find a "qualified" transporter to haul your vehicle.

- My initial quote was $595. AmeriFreight called me a day after I accepted their estimate saying they found a transporter, but the transporter wanted $100 more. As I mentioned before, I had a friend tell me this is a common occurrence across most brokers. If you have the time to wait till someone takes your initial offer, then do so, otherwise expect to pay a little more to get the job done fast. I opted for the latter.

- The transporter arrived on time and was very professional and thorough completing the vehicle inspection sheet.

- The transporter was flexible with my schedule, holding the car for a day at destination until I could arrange pick up.

- The car arrived filthy, the car was driven to the drop off location instead of being brought on the semi (this may had to do with me having the car held for a day), the delivery man was rushing to get out of there, and the delivery man tried to say I owed more than what AmeriFreight told me to pay. All of this seemed very suspicious to me. I recommend arranging to pick up your vehicle at a car wash and making the transporter wait around for the car to be washed to perform your delivery inspection. Be sure to check the roof as well as under the bumper and fender. These are common damage areas that get overlooked. Also look for any areas of the paint where it appears the transporter may have done a quick patch job to cover up damage. Do not let the delivery man rush you to sign off on a delivery sheet. It is your right to thoroughly inspect a clean vehicle and very important if you want a leg to stand on in case of damage to your vehicle.
