This year has sucked: divorce, lawyers, quitting jobs, moving cross country.
What's even worse, I had to leave my clean Lincoln LS parked on a Queens street while I flew back to Nebraska. In NYC, if a parking ticket or two get overlooked, you get towed and it costs over $2,000 to get it out of car jail. Ask me how I know. AND I was counting on my flaky ex to move it to the alternate side for street cleaning two times a week.
Needless to say, I was way nervous. Still, I only wanted to spend around $700 for this shipment, even though my trusted, longtime rep Graham advised me that during the high season that rate was too low for the route. And the car sat...
A couple months later, flaky ex tells me that she's flying out of the country in 3 weeks, and can't move my car anymore. As I'm over 1,000 miles away and it would take at least $1,600 to fly there and drive it back, this is bad. Graham convinced me that we'd only get movement if I bumped up the price. We did that twice, and with only a week to spare, my car was picked up. While the transport was only going to Lincoln, NE, it was fine with me, as it was close enough.
We drove down to Lincoln and met operator Vladimir of UI Express Inc, a great guy who understood my situation and took great care of me and the car.
Was it a perfect, immediate, bottom dollar transport? No. But it happened when I needed it to, and that's all that matters. Thanks to Graham and Vladimir, I'm a happy customer.
