Do NOT Use AmeriFreight

I have shipped at lease 5 cars as we move alot-in the past the company has moved us and has always used DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers)-this time since I was doing it on my own I checked the cost and went with AmeriFreight as they seemed to know what they were talking about and the cost wasn't the cheapest but wasn't as expensive as DAS either. First off it seemed odd that they took a partial payment up front and that I had to pay the driver directly the other portion (what if I wasn't going to be home when the car was going to be dropped off-at DAS they will drop it at a lot and hold it for you or deliver it to your door). Secondly, I told them I was in a time crunch-I paid the extra fee to have it picked up in 5 days. They said they would call have it picked up way before then and would schedule it in 24 hours. Three days went by and I heard nothing. I called and got no return call. I emailed and heard nothing. I kept calling before Jeff, my assigned contact, finally answered the phone and told me he found a driver to take the car and for ME to call back after 3. I called back and Jeff never answered. Needless to say they never came to pick up the car and I never heard from Jeff again. I called DAS and dropped the car off with them and had it shipped in 10 days. It was more expensive but you pay for what you get. This was a month ago-and just today I got my refund back from AMerifreight after threatening to go to the Better Business Bureau on them! I have my second family car to ship to Vegas and this time I will skip the headache and go right with DAS.

It is unfortunate that our customer was not happy with our services. We did all as promised according to our contact with the customer. Broker fees are paid seperate to the carriers fee upon delivery. That is standard in the industry. As we were unable to locate a carrier for this customer in the required time period we refunded the deposit in full. We try to get cheaper rates for customers even if it takes longer. We have a refund policy and the funds were paid back to the customer accordingly. We have never had any customer not receiving a refund that was due. Again we are always disappointed that we failed to deliver as promised to any of our customers. Fortunately that happens less than 1% of the time for all our shipments.
