Disappointing Experience

I don't want to write one of those long angry reviews that so often make people think "Oh, this must be that one person that was so angry they felt they had to vent online." What I do want to do is lay out the facts briefly so that maybe someone reading this will have fair warning of what may lie ahead.

1. It took 24 days to get my car picked up, even though I paid the expedited rate (guarantees 5 business days to pick up the car). Also, keep in mind that the "On time" status to the right for delivery is meant to note that, once it was picked up, it made it to CA in a timely fashion. I was really expecting the car to be picked-up/dropped off about two weeks earlier.

2. I had to do all the following up. Keep in mind, AmeriFreight is a broker service. They call carriers for you. I never once received a phone call from Graham letting me know the status of the pickup after it was essentially past due. Not that I'm trying to pretend like I was the only person he was working for, but when you're 15 days past your pick-up date, a quick call to say "Hey Pete, still working on it and hope to have it soon" goes a long way.

3. Didn't hear from Graham again until review time. Then I got calls and emails, both asking for four or five star reviews or else my $20 refund that they mentioned at the beginning wouldn't be guaranteed.

Lastly, what would I have done differently? Taken that one extra day to seek out a carrier and set up the pick-up myself. This is what I now recommend to everyone. Try it and I guarantee you'll be happier in the end.
