I read a lot of great reviews regarding Amerifreight and their customer service so placed the order with them. Not sure if it was just me who got unlucky, but I didn't find the customer service up to the mark I had to keep calling back to find the status of whether a carrier had been assigned
It took 11 days from the first available pick up date for a carrier to be assigned
The car was available for pick up on Mon/Wed/Fri and weekends and I was told by Amerifreight, that the fact it could not be picked up on the 2 days of the week made it difficult to find a carrier... that was hard to digest considering the weekends were available and the order had been put in a good 5 days before the first weekend arrived.
The first weekend passed, so did the subsequent week. On calling back Amerifreight I was asked to increase the monetary amount and take out the restrictions of the car not being available on the 2 days. I thought the whole point of working with a broker and paying the additional fees, was for them to accommodate the specific needs of the customer, else it may have been easier/cheaper to go directly to the carrier? Either ways, I did get really lucky in the end, when I got assigned the carrier Saturn Auto Trans LLC. Octavian was the in charge and Dima was the truck driver. They were the most polite and helpful folks I coordinated with during this entire process!!! And they stuck by their word all the way from pick up date/time to drop off date/time. Ater Dima picked up my car, he delivered it all the way from NJ to CA (door to door service) in 6 days ahead of the estimated time of 9 days. My car was pretty dirty, but it was an open carrier, and after hosing it down it was as good as new.
