Our main contact at AmeriFreight was Graham, who had the patience of a saint. We were new to the process and very nervous about it, not to mention the high-strung relative we were getting the car from who was constantly calling him too. Overall response times were good. VAD was 9/7, car pick-up was 9/20.The company had some trouble securing a carrier within the 5 days of our contract so we ended up upgrading from Priority Preferred (5 work days) to Select Express (2 work days). Pick-up was scheduled for 9/19 but driver could not make it until the morning of 9/20.Once the trucking company was secured, communication with AmeriFreight stopped. The trucking company, Auto Transport Service was also mostly pleasant and patient with us (until the last day). The car was dropped off a day later than anticipated due to a few holdovers along the way. Total transaction time about 17 days. We had to pick up our car in a local shopping center due to weight limits in our neighborhood and low branches. It was not inconvenient for us to do so, but the novice car shipper should think of such things beforehand, especially if shipping a vehicle with mechanical problems.
I hope to never ship another car. This statement has nothing to do with AmeriFreight or Auto Transport's service. I'd much rather do the drive myself. But, if I found myself in similar circumstances and HAD to ship a vehicle, I would use AmeriFreight again.
