Like many, I reviewed this site for guidance. I also checked better business bureau. I called and discussed upfront my needs, and a quote came in for $850 on this site, and was immediately bumped up by over $100 when I spoke with Amerifreight (integrity alert). By the time I was done, the price was $1450. Strike 1.

Moving across country, we had two cars. One car started on its course 6/24/11 and was to arrive on 7/7/11 (I confirmed this expectation several times with Amerifreight and they gave me confidence over the phone that this date was very reasonable). This is the vehicle with Amerifreight. When I called on 7/6/11 to check on the vehicle that left from Maryland (DC Metro area), the car was still on the East Coast. Wow! A week late and the expense of a rental car for a week (add $500+). Strike 2. We used Auto DriveAway for our second vehicle that left a week later from Chicago and arrived several days earlier than our Amerifreight sent vehicle. I called Amerifreight to ask for their support the rental car expense... NO RESPONSE. Strike 3.

As our car was being prepared for pick-up, I asked Amerifreight several times if it would be okay to leave some kitchen items in the vehicle. The response was to check with the company transporting the car, Dependable Auto Shippers. I call the shipper, verify that it is indeed okay to place some non-valuable items. The very next day when I am out of town, I get a call that although the both companies said yes, they forced a neighbor of mine to take out the kitchen and toy items we had in the vehicle and store in their house. Seriously! So much for integrity. Strike 4.

Then, our vehicle finally does arrive and all seems okay. Except a few days later we realize the undercarriage of our vehicle (muffler) is damaged and we have yet to drive. Again, communicate this disappointment to Amerifreight and NO RESPONSE. Strike 5.

I will never use Amerifreight or Dependable Auto Shippers again.

As is evident from our overwhelmingly postive reviews, we try our very best to make our customers' carshippimg experience worry free. It is disappointing to hear when a customer is unhappy with our service. I can understand this customers complaints and accept the responsibilty that we should have selected a carrier that would have treated the customer better and offered better service. Unfortunately we cannot always get it right. We will take this as a lessons learned experience and will consider ways to prevent incidences like this from happening again. Marius Lehmann CEO.
